If you are experiencing symptoms of uterine fibroids, your doctor may order an ultrasound or MRI.
Ultrasound: Sound waves from the ultrasound machine take pictures of your uterus to confirm the diagnosis and to map and measure the fibroids.
MRI: During a MRI, the patient lies in a traditional or open magnet. MRI produces high quality images with greater detail than that provided by ultrasound.
ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR UTERINE FIBROID DIAGNOSTIC TESTING?
You are a candidate if you are experiencing one or more of the fibroid-related symptoms, your doctor suspects you may have fibroids, or he/she has already diagnosed you with fibroids. Asymptomatic fibroids typically do not require treatment.
