Sustainability & Community
SMALL CHANGES, BIG IMPACT
At New England Endovascular Center, we understand the importance of making small changes to create a big impact within our Western Massachusetts and Northeast Connecticut communities and global environment.
OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
The healthcare industry faces particular challenges — medical equipment, such as sterilization processing units, complex technology, air handling systems, etc., all require significant power to run. In addition, medical centers generate medical waste –hazardous materials and sharps –that require special types of treatment and disposal methods. As such, the medical community has a responsibility to patients, staff, and local and global communities to provide care without harm.
New England Endovascular Center is making steps towards reducing our carbon footprint, decreasing the amount of waste sent to landfills, and adopting environmentally responsible practices. For example, we are working to reduce the amount of regulated medical waste produced by single-use equipment and biohazardous waste. We have initiatives to implement clean energy practices, like recycling and using eco-friendly products and materials. We are committed to using safer cleaning chemicals and energy-efficient air purifiers throughout our facility.
“New England Endovascular Center is committed to improve our sustainability performance and environmental responsibility.”
